Your seasonal allergy calendar

You know that feeling when the first warm week of spring hits, and by Friday your eyes are itching and you're sneezing in the car? Allergies run on a calendar. Your body does too. Chinese medicine has been paying attention to that rhythm for over two thousand years, and it's one of my favorite things to teach.

Chinese medicine often counts five seasons, not four. Late summer, the harvest, gets its own season. Tap a season on the wheel to see how to sleep, eat, get outside and set up your home for it. Then map out your own allergy year below, so you can get ready before the pollen does.

My allergy year

Which seasons are hard for you? Check them, and pick when your symptoms usually start. Not sure? Your local pollen count (on a weather app or pollen.com) can tell you when your season is starting. I'll count back 2 to 3 weeks and show you when to start getting ready, because staying ahead of symptoms is so much easier than catching up.

Want the whole calendar?

This page is the short version. Inside my course, Alleviating Allergies, you get the full 10-page printable calendar: the tea recipes for every season, how to find each acupressure point, the breathing and yoga practices, the emotion of each season, and a seasonal check-in to reset as one season turns into the next.

One important thing: if you're struggling with symptoms right now, your allergy type comes first. Eat the foods and drink the tea for your type, and sprinkle in seasonal foods for variety. If you're feeling good, follow the seasons. That's how you stay well. Not sure of your type? Take the allergy type quiz.

Keep taking your allergy medications. Wheezing, a tight chest, trouble breathing, or swelling of your lips, tongue or throat means get help right away.

This calendar is for education only and isn't medical advice. Months are for the Northern Hemisphere unless you switch below, and pollen seasons follow the typical U.S. pattern, so yours may start earlier or later.
